The Garden

Immerse yourself in an extraordinary botanical garden

Nestled in the Seine-Maritime region between Rouen, Forges-les-Eaux and Neufchâtel-en-Bray, the Jardin de Vallonchêne invites you on an extraordinary plant escapade. This English-style garden, accessible by appointment only(more info here), boasts a unique collection of rare and unusual plants, set in an undulating landscape crossed by two streams.

A sanctuary for biodiversity

Far from being a simple pleasure garden, the Jardin de Vallonchêne plays a crucial role in preserving biodiversity. Pépinière Vallonchêne, which uses the site, cultivates the mother plants of its production, tests new species and varieties resistant to climate change, and contributes to the preservation of endangered plant species.

An enchanted walk

Covering more than six hectares, the garden reveals a multitude of plant treasures. From multi-century-old oaks to little-known shrubs and spectacularly flowering perennials, every step is a new surprise. Let yourself be guided by the winding paths and enjoy the breathtaking views over the Pays de Bray.

A living garden

The Jardin de Vallonchêne is not set in stone. It evolves with the seasons, offering an ever-changing palette of colors and fragrances. In spring, the bulbs awaken, summer explodes with blooms, autumn is adorned with flamboyant colors and winter reveals the beauty of bare structures.

A fascinating story

The Jardin de Vallonchêne adventure began in 2004, when the owners acquired this site with its hidden charms. Over the years, they have patiently restored the landscape, brought the buildings back to life and created a haven for flora and fauna.
